Work Events

Get your hands dirty!

We need volunteers to help us with invasive plant management (such as pulling English ivy) at our monthly events (usually the last Saturday of the month). Invasive plants are removed because they outcompete native plants, while native plants provide food, protection, and places to reproduce and live for native birds, insects, and mammals. Other park maintenance tasks (mulching, weeding, planting, etc.) are done as needed. It is generally light work (typically including standing, bending. pulling, raking, etc.). You decide what you can do.

Time Commitment: Up to 2 hours. Please arrive BEFORE the official start time to allow time for registration, and because we will leave the meeting site shortly thereafter.

What to Wear/Bring: Long pants and closed shoes are strongly recommended. Optional items:  drinking water, work gloves, hand pruners.
Weather: We will work unless there's severe weather or heavy rain.
Meeting Location: Decided on a month by month basis, since the Park covers 100+ acres. Go to the Community Foundation Engage website for details on each work event. You can pre-register there, but it isn't required.

Complete your waiver ahead of time!
