About Friends of Forest Hill ParkIn 1997, the Friends of Forest Hill Park began as a committee of the Forest Hill Neighborhood Association. Within the first year, Friends became a group separate from the neighborhood association and tackled projects such as helping the city of Richmond acquire a grant to establish a Reedy Creek Watershed Management Plan. With that successful action, Friends was off and running to take on many other projects to preserve the vigor and durability of Forest Hill Park and its many amenities.
We also offer Friends of Forest Hill Park Junior for students of all ages to get involved in park activities. Our MissionTo encourage and safeguard responsible use and care of Forest Hill Park in collaboration with the Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities and to promote a broader understanding and knowledge of the park’s history as one of the oldest public gathering places in Richmond.
